Escaping Reality With Online Fantasy Games

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

One of the main reasons why people indulge in online gaming is to get away from the reality of their life, at least for a few hours, to a fantasy world. This is what online games are all about! You can put yourself in roles that you find you can’t play in real life and explore whole new worlds.

Everyone gets stressed with life; some more so than others, but everyone is affected by it to some degree, and needs some form of release from it. Online games offer a safe and fun way to release that stress. It is commonly said that the best way of giving your mind a rest is to focus it on something totally different to whatever it is that you’re trying to give it a rest from and, unless your life is totally crazy and unique, there can be few things more different to everyday life than casting spells, joining armies and killing monsters!

Playing online games not only gives a person an outlet for pent up frustrations and anger, it also gives the person an outlet to let go of shyness and the fear of rejection. Hiding behind an avatar, you can meet people who you never otherwise would. You might tell them who you really are or you may choose not to, it’s up to you. The good thing about this is that it gives you the chance to interact with other people on a level where you are all pretty equal, since you are all playing the same game. It also gives you a common ground to begin with – the game – and this can become the foundation of a friendship that can possibly transcend the gaming world.

Then there is the creativity and freedom available. Whether you want to be a magician, a warrior or a myth-like creature, is totally up to you. The choice is yours as to whether you adventure alone or in a group. To fight for good or for evil is decision for you alone to make. In fact, there are literally hundreds of decisions to make and options to choose from, all of which you can see the immediate results of. Whatever your mood is, and whatever you want to achieve, in an online game you can do it.

Just make sure that once you log out of the game, you leave your fantasy persona behind and return to the real world as you and not your sword wielding character or your mob killing avatar!

Wii Poker??

Monday, November 16th, 2009

The Nintendo Wii has been put down as a family console right? Why is it that you can even see these Poker games on the console? Well there is actually a fairly decent reason behind it all.

The first major point is that yes Nintendo do want a larger variety of people to be playing their games consoles but they do not just want to be restricting it to the family. Right, when was the last time the fans saw a decent game! Nintendo felt it would be better to bring in all the gamblers to the console over brining in the fans by making a decent game, wheres the next decent game Nintendo.

So although this game isn’t likely to give you any real rakeback whether that comes in the form of full tilt rakeback or pokerstars rakeback it just isn’t going to be happening with this game.

So although Nintendo has a game for adults it would seem that this is actually a big problem. The console although not strictly for the family market, has become something of a family item so introducing poker games to the fray may not be a good idea.

Is it that likely that your child is going to be addicted to gambing by 12! For some reason the rating for thos game is a 12 and not higher although I suppose you are not gambling for money. So how come all of these shooters are 18’s when a gambling game is only a 12, what is the difference here?

Well there is the proof, the world has gone mad! Of course there is one thing about the game on the Wii, it is better than wasting your real money losing in lots of poker matches.

Forza 3 Rocks

Sunday, November 15th, 2009

With Forza 3 being released last month I thought it would be a good idea to talk about why it is easily the best driving game experience that has ever been made.

Forza 3 is of course a follow up to the Forza and Forza 2 games and features over 400 cars which can all be customised built from 50 manufacturers as well as holding over 100 race track variations from across the world. The car detail in this game has been heavily improved upon with 10 times more polygons been put into each one since Forza 2.

The New Bits

Apart from the graphics and the hundreds of cars that have been added into the game, there are other new improvements within the game too. The in car driving view is something that has been wanted in this game since the first Forza and is something that I am using a lot. As well as this you can have full vehicle rollovers with details on the undercarriages along with one button assisted driving. Simulation drifting and SUV’s have also been thrown into the series. You can also paint every single car in the game and create in game videos and upload them to the Forza site.

The game itself comes with two discs but can be all be played on the first. The reason the second disc is there is because it contains 104 extra cars and a few extra tracks. The season mode can not be faulted at all as it features a personal racing calender that includes way over 200 events including oval, circuit, drift, drag and timed events. Apprently no two calenders will ever be the same.

In reality a car does not always have to be expensive, Honda Car Lease can be a good way to do things.  This can also be done in the form of Audi leasing as well as leasing vans.

No More Music Games!

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

With Band Hero on its way and released already in America it is also going to be released for the DS, but is the demand really here at all?

Well when it was announced that Guitar Hero was on its way to the DS there was actually a bit of excitement as it was the first time that a game like this had made its way onto a hand held console. This game with its problems and it is these problems that still need fixing.

The major problem that this game actually has is that when you are trying to play it the peripherals are not designed very well so it ends up really hurting the hands. Although it hasnt actually been proved that your hands will suffer damage through this game, if you were to sit down and play it for an extended period of time I can tell you for a fact that the hands would hurt. Another problem was the fact that you couldn’t pick a favourite guitar to use like the Gibson les Paul Custom

When the drums came into the equation then it started to get a bit better as you were not damaging yourself during play however it did seem a bit pointless because you didn’t need the add on you could have just used the screen.

With the new update of Band Hero there is still no way at all that you can play it on the DSi, sure you can play the drums but it is the guitar that people are interested in? They really have not added anything to the game other than the ability to sing which is really only going to annoy the people around you.

How long is it before they start to introduce silly things like DJ equipment and one of those bass guitar amps.

New Class of Xbox 360 Accessories Here To Improve Xbox 360 Games

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

You probably already know it, Xbox 360 Games offer some of the most wonderfully immersive experiences anywhere, online or off.  With smash titles like Halo, Fallout, Call of Duty, and Panzer General : Allied Assault, it’s hard to see what else could presumably improve gameplay any more than the long way it is already come.  Of course , it wasn’t but a few years ago that clunky outdated controllers were still being used.  Nowadays the user interface has improved noticeably, with on-board accelerometers to process spatial information for human kinetics in gaming. But something up coming may be the most revolutionary thing to hit videogaming at home in our time.

Xbox 360 games can be closely matched to Xbox 360 Accessories for the most seamless experience of really immersive gameplay.  But what if there were no requirement for any Xbox 360 accessories save one?One ueber-accessory to replace all of them?  Long the stuff of science-fiction and comic books, this latest of Xbox 360 Accessories would also be the last.  It’d be the single thing needed to play all the Xbox 360 games made of then on.

Not heard of it?  That’s as it was just recently announced by Microsoft.  It’s a electronic eye of sorts that may obliterate the necessity for physical controllers, hardware that’s held in one’s hand.  This new soon-to-come electronic eye will sense player movements in space, so handheld controllers with built-in accelerometers will not be required.  This latest advance in gaming technology is due out inside the following year or two, and will be mounted separately from the console.  But all user movement data will be provided to the console just the same.  Try to imagine playing computer games with nothing less than your own body and body movements!

This undoubted sorcery eye that Microsoft has been developing will even track eye movements to modify point-of-view in a first-person shooter.  Imagine Halo or Call of Duty or gong of honour without pesky controllers but with instead a light gun and your own body and your own eyes!  As you turn right the screen capture reveals scenery to your right side, and as you turn left the panorama shifts with you!
So while today’s Xbox 360 games are quite sophisticated, the Xbox accessories to come will require software that rethinks the entire notion of onscreen and off.  Hardware and software exist in a symbiotic relationship, and it will be interesting to see what transpires next now that the hardware has taken a quantum jump forward!

R4 DS Card

Looking to buy the R4 DS Card? Then you need to make sure you buy the version that works with your Nintendo DS or Nintendo DSi model. There are a number of R4 DS Cards available. There really are only two versions of the R4 DS Card that you have to know about. And the difference between them is on which Nintendo DS version they will work with.

Once you’ve purchased the right R4 DS Card, you’ll need to learn how to use it.While setting up the R4 DS is not hard at all, you would be surprised by knowing that many of the people who buy them don’t have any idea on how to use them.  Instructions are included with all R4 DS Cards, whether you’ve just bought the R4i SDHC or the original R4 DS.Set up is easy. Just making sure to set it up correctly. Copying the actual firmware files to the microSD card prior to using it in your Nintendo DS or Nintendo DSi.

The R4 DS Card is an amazing little accessory for your Nintendo DS / DSi.With it you turn your Nintendo DS in to a full blown media center, allowing you to do much more than just play games.  You’ll be able to truly utilize your NDS console in ways you never thought possible. You will be able to read eBooks, listen to standard MP3 music (like and iPod) and watch your favorite movies quickly and easily.

The R4 DS is the original slot 1 flash card for the Nintendo DS.One of the most, if not THE most popular hombrew / roms player card to be made available. The first version of the R4 DS Card works in the Nintendo DS and the newer (but not newest) Nintendo DS Lite console.

To be certain you’re getting the right unit, if you have the new Nintendo DSi with the camera, then it’s the R4i SDHC that you’ll need.  The R4i SDHC is the only card in the R4 DS Family that will work on the newest Nintendo DSi console. It is very important that you don’t confused the two different models of the R4 DS.

The R4i SDHC will work with the original Nintendo DS and DS Lite, but the R4 DS Card will NOT work in the newest Nintendo DSi system. It is just not compatible.  Purchasing the original R4 DS card for your Nintendo DSi will leave you wondering why your new toy doesn’t work.

Unlike standalone personal media players, you’ll have all of the benefits of having your movies, music, pictures and eBooks in your pocket… But more than that, you’ll also be able to play the coolest Nintendo DS games too.It makes it much more superior than just a stand alone personal media player.

There Is No Need For Guitars That Are Made From Plastic With This Game

Monday, November 9th, 2009

That’s right, forget Guitar Hero and Rock Band as this is a game in which using a plastic guitar is not needed at all. The great thing about this one is that you need no large spaces to play it in and no plastic guitar. So what am I on about?

Brutal Legend is the game that I am on about here and the game itself is based upon album art from classic rock with the main guy voiced by the funny Jack Black. This is no game for kids, not by any means as this game comes with an 18 certificate plastered on the front of it even though you do have an option at the start of the game to take out the swearing. Not sure why anyone would do this, then again perhaps if you are playing it in front of children without the swearing it may actually be an acceptable game.

of course an 18 certificate isnt just about the swearing, there is a lot of violence in this game and however fun it may be, do not let your kids play it. The multiplayer element of the game is a lot different to what you would normally expect. It is more strategy based than the single player game as you have to spawn an army of followers that will help you fight the other team.

The weapons in the game include a gigantic battle axe and one of those awesome looking guitars that you see in classic rock. It is not really based on one of those Bass Guitars or Acoustic Guitars but is a combination of all things rock.

As well as Jack Black there are many other stars that have been cast for this game that include Tim Curry, Lita Ford and the legendary Ozzy Osbourne. This game really does have a brilliant and gripping storyline that contains many funny moments.

Game Controllers For The Army?

Monday, November 2nd, 2009

Gaming seems to have heavily influenced the army over the past ten years or so. it would seem the army may have gone a bit too far this time as they have taken the everyday gaming controller and made it into something that can control war vehicles.

Lets be honest here, are there any real benefits of using this kind of thing? Well the first maker benefit would be that they no longer have to sit there on a mounted position controlling various things. With the pad they can walk around and control things in a similar way that you can control an RC Helicopter. Does anyone remember that crazy film that starred Robin Williams as a toy maker who has to try and stop his uncle from taking over the world by using remote controlled tanks and planes.

Are guns going to become a thing of the past, is it possible that the army could just sit back and use this pad to control their tanks from a far away place and not worry about losing any men? Of course not, the whole reason the army is a success is because of the skills, wits and training that all of these men and women have been given. This is just another option to take when it comes to fighting a very modern war, it will never be used without the help of people and to think that it would is madness.

It is wondered how many deutsch connectors and multicore ties are actually needed to develop this brilliant technology. The thing is, all of the creators of the game pads now have this on thier concious? The thing is, this kind of technology was never meant to be used in this way, the next thing they will use is motion sensing things that can control tank,it is being taken too far. Let us just hope that they used hellermann tyton to make sure everything is secure enough to work.

Spice Up Your Gaming With Different Nintendo DSi Colors!

Monday, November 2nd, 2009

The massive range of Nintendo DSi colors is one of the primary reasons for its increasing popularity. It’s known that this games console is known for its sophisticated functions and highly developed features, but most of the time a lot can be said for the outward appearance too. These days, no one wants to be stuck in the drab world of black or white. So Nintendo is creating fresh, innovative and flashy colors to woo gamers across the planet.

The Nintendo DSi has competed in the market for some time now.  Notwithstanding powerful initial figures, purchases are diminshing because of the recession afflicting our global economy. Also, most of  keen gameplayers have already acquired their Nintendo DSi. Nintendo DSi colors are being produced to get the customers back in the zone! There are bright colors such as lime green and pink now doing the circuit in Japan, with extra colors in production for the US. Thus this is a component of the marketing technique Nintendo is employing.

It is fascinating, however, that Nintendo is marketing different Nintendo DSi colors in varying countries. While it had began with black and white in Japan, in the US it started off with black and blue. These colors were matted at the start, but now Nintendo have produced lustrous and glossy finishes, with supplements to the plethora of Nintendo DSi colors. Usually one might expect a universal color of videogaming console that would be recognised across the planet, but Nintendo is choosing varied colors in the east and west. This could be seen as a ploy to recognise the idiosyncratic tastes of the nations, or to lift international Nintendo DSi colors commerce.

Most frequently, introducing new colors of an already famous gizmo is a ploy to win the favor of {the} gamers. But it’s also true that the console is made more stylish and appealing. The times of black, white and gray are slowly fading into the past. These days, players always want their gaming gadget to look chic and trendy. So now you can choose from a range of Nintendo DSi colors that mirror your style and fashion!
