Warlock – The Fierce Enemies
Tuesday, September 29th, 2009Playing a Warlock can bring you loads of fun. This class belongs to the dark side and therefore their spells are based on the shadow magic and fire magic. They possess the powers of ‘the dark’ and therefore they are interested in demonology. With the demonology abilities Warlocks are able to summon a few types of demons which serve them as their pets, like an imp, fel hound, succubus, void walker and infernal. Locks are one of the two classes that can use pets and similar to the Hunter class, Locks too can have a pet by their side at most of the times if their build allows them.
To have a pet near you will make the game easier and will help you avoid damage most of the times. The Warlock himself casts mostly damaging spells like shadow bolts. A Warlock however is very well known for ability to fear his enemies which make them run around like chicken without heads. This powerful class is also popular because of their “damage over time†– DoTs spells which also contribute to the overall damage output of a Lock. Click here to watch the video: WoW Warlock Guide
Because of these spells, a good Warlock is feared in PvP, and can top damage meters in PvE. The basic assignment of a Warlock in PvP is to fear his targets while at the same time he applies dots, while in PvE he is most likely to use his Shadow Bolt.
On top of a variety of damaging spells the Warlock has several other nice spells in his arsenal. One of these is the Dark Portal they can summon. This portal is used to summon players located anywhere on the map to the location of a Warlock. However, to complete the summoning, a Lock will need a couple of players to help him. Dark Portals have a purpose similar to meeting stones which are to be found in front of dungeons and instances.
Another helpful ability a Lock has is to place a Soul Stone on a friendly player or himself. If a player is Soul Stoned he can resurrect on the spot upon death. This is very useful in raids and also can reduce the time of CR – corps running, even though its cooldown is 30 minutes. Soul Stone will come in handy to any Lock while he is leveling and also it is a “wipe savior†in any raid or dungeon group if placed on a player who can heal or resurrect. This class is also famous for their Health Stones (HS), which have a purpose to instantly give back a certain amount of health to any player in its possession, similar to a healing potion. At the beginning, a Warlock can give the Health Stones to other players separately and on the higher levels he will be able to create a Soul Well where all the members of his raid or group can click to obtain one Health Stone. What is nice about the Health Stones is that they do not share the same cool down as Healing Potions which means that you can use the both of them in a longer fight.
Warlocks are a very fun and interesting class to play. You will be able to summon several different types of demon pets that all have their own unique abilities and fight by your side, you will have devastating spells and spells to fear your enemies, you will have several nice spells that can improve the Warlock’s party or raid’s performance and a lot more. If you would like your char to be a caster with many different abilities, a Warlock is the right choice for you!
